The NSW Government’s vision for the carers in NSW is that they are supported to participate fully in their own social and economic life. We want them to be healthy and live well.

The Department of Family and Community Services (FACS) is the lead agency for carers in NSW. This includes leading the development and implementation of the NSW Carers Strategy 2014-2019, the implementation of the Carers (Recognition) Act 2010.

In 2018 FACS will commence the Carer Investment Program (CIP). The CIP re-invest existing carer grant funding in line with the NSW Carers Strategy focus areas.

The program will see $5.6 million (over three years) directed to projects that propose new solutions under the 5 focus areas of the Strategy, or support the delivery or evaluation of existing projects in the Strategy.
